This is the ultimate burger recipe.

You’ll need: 1 medium onion, finely chopped 1 medium carrot, peeled and finely chopped 2 cloves garlic, minced 1 tablespoon olive oil 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon pepper 2 large eggs, beaten 1/3 cup tomato paste 1/8 teaspoon black pepper 2 tablespoons butter or coconut oil 2 large bunches of cheese, shredded 1 tablespoon butter 1 tablespoon ketchup or mustard 1/5 teaspoon chili powder 1/6 teaspoon salt 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil Directions: In a large frying pan, sauté onion, carrot and garlic in olive oil until soft and golden brown.

Add in garlic, oil, salt and pepper and sautée for 1 minute.

Add eggs and tomato paste, and saute until golden brown, about 2 minutes.

Add cheese, ketchup, mustard and chili powder and sauter, and stir until melted and smooth.

Add extra-vegetable oil, mix well and add a generous pinch of salt.

Cook on high heat for about 1 minute, or until the cheese is melted and bubbling, stirring occasionally.

Transfer to a serving platter and sprinkle with butter.

Serve with a bun and drizzle with extra-vinegar mustard or ketchup.

Recipe Notes To make the burger sauce, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large pot.

Add onions and carrots and saucy sauce and cook, stirring constantly, until onions are translucent and softened, about 5 minutes.

Transfer onion mixture to a blender and blend until smooth.

Transfer the mixture to another bowl, and add remaining oil and tomatoes, stirring frequently, until smooth, about 20 minutes.

Pour into a large serving dish, and top with cheese, a little extra sauce if needed, and a bun.

Notes You can make the sauce from scratch or make substitutions for the toppings listed above.

You may need to adjust the salt and add more or less ketchup if you prefer.
