A woman who was found dead in a vacant house in south suburban Schaumburg, Ill., has been identified as 47-year-old Amy Lee.
According to police, officers responded to a report of a woman who appeared to be deceased in a home in the 300 block of East Main Street at 5:30 p.m.
When officers arrived, they found Lee dead from a gunshot wound to the head.
She had been missing since 5:00 p.s.m., and her body was discovered by her boyfriend in the house’s basement.
Police said Lee was a resident of the home, but they have not released the identity of her boyfriend, and she had not been formally identified as a victim.
She was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
Her death is being investigated as a homicide, police said.
